Can I Mix Vape Juice With CBD Oil?

Although vape and CBD oils may be quite similar, they are different. Of course, both of them are non-toxic and meant for regular use. That is why people ask how to mix CBD into vape juice rather then buy CBD vape pens premade.

Well, as a rule, one should avoid mixing products made for different purposes. Of course, mixing different products does not pose any severe health threat. However, every product is for use in a specific way. Thus, vape juice is perfect for producing clouds and for vaping. CBD oil is mainly for sublingual use.

Nonetheless, the question is interesting, and it may come to anyone’s mind who uses CBD vape pod regularly. Moreover, it is pretty likely that many people might be using both kinds of products. They might be vaping and also using CBD oil for health effects.

Understanding CBD oil

CBD oils mainly contain an edible oil as a carrier oil, and CBD isolate or full-spectrum CBD. These oils are meant for sublingual use or ingestion. Thus, for example, these products are mostly made using edible oils like olive oil or MCT oil. This ensures good bioavailability of the product.[1]

However, as one can see, edible oils do not produce vapours. If you add CBD oil for oral intake to the vape pen, it will spoil or damage the vape pen. This is because edible oils may burn. Moreover, burning edible oils may produce harmful vapours. So, it means that if you intend to vape, mixing CBD oils into vape liquid is not a good idea.

On the other hand, if you mix vape juice with CBD oil for oral ingestion, then it is safe. However, generally, vape juices have low CBD concentrations, and thus, it would always be better to use CBD oil and avoid mixing vape juice with it. Moreover, vape juice may have a more intense flavour, and not everyone may like those flavours when ingested. Those flavours are pleasant when vaped.

Understanding Vape Juice

Although people may call them vape oil, they do not contain oil. They mainly have PG (Propylene Glycol) vs VG (Vegetable Glycerine), both alcohol-based compounds. They produce clouds when heat is applied to them. Vape juice has CBD, flavours, and terpenes added to PG or VG. Most vape juices contain PG or VG in different ratios.[2]

Of course, vape juice is perfect for vaping. It is safe to ingest, though it is not as good as CBD oil. Theoretically, one can mix small amounts of vape juice with CBD oil for oral juice, and some people may like the end product with a more intense flavour. However, if you intend to vape, avoid any mixing since oils in CBD oils are not for vaping, and they might damage your vape pen and are harmful to health when heated. Nonetheless, the question is interesting, and it may come to anyone’s mind what are CBD capsules?

To sum up, CBD oil for oral use and vape juice are two entirely different products. Though theoretically, one can mix these two products, it is not a good idea to do so in most cases.
