If you happen to be dabbing CBD concentrates, it's a good idea to understand temperatures in how to achieve them. To avoid ever dabbing CBD concentrates too hot, try cold start dabs instead of heating your rig up first. Once many people try their first cold start dab, they never dab any other way again.
Assuming you vape like most people, you'll be using a vape pen specially designed for CBD oils. Most of these are preset with one to three temps to choose from. Fancier and more expensive vape batteries allow you to customize your temp to how you like to vape. It's surprising what a couple of degrees can do to the flavour and effects of cannabis oil.
Cannabinoids have a boiling point. CBD’s boiling is 180°C. The best wattage to use for vaping CBD is to set your pen between 10-15 watts. When you vape CBD oil at low temps, it allows for more taste. Higher temps offer more effects. Nicotine vape pens are designed to burn hotter than CBD vape pens. The average nicotine date pin reaches temperatures between 199° c to 255° c.
The recommended temperature for vaping CBD oil is 176.6°C- 190.5°C. At these temps, CBD oil evaporates without combusting. The hottest temp you should vape CBD oil at is 221.1°C. At 232.2°C, cannabinoids begin to be destroyed. If you've ever asked yourself the question, what temp should I vape CBD oil at, now you know the answer.
CBD oil should have a consistent, clean flavour. The effect experienced should be the same unless you begin to develop a tolerance level to CBD, in which case you either need to take a break or increase the amount of CBD you consume.
When vaping CBD, you don’t want it to taste burnt. You will definitely notice if it has a burnt flavour. When your CBD oil vape temperature is too high, it also becomes very harsh. It can burn the back of your throat, cause your eyes to water, and even make it feel like someone just punched you in the nose. If you have a vape pen designed for CBD and it starts burning hot, there are a few things you can do before tossing it.
The first thing to do is to check and make sure it doesn't have an adjustable temperature setting. If it does, chances are that lowering the temperature will fix the problem. The next thing to do is change out your cartridge or pod if the pin is reusable. Sometimes coils or even a batch of CBD can taste different. If this doesn't correct the problem, there could be a malfunction in your vape pen. This is where it is always a good idea to have a backup.Â
If at the end of the day you don’t want the hassle of figuring out what temperature or wattage to use, then you will want to look for disposable vape pens. There is no need to set anything with disposables. They are already built with a configuration that is optimised for the e-liquid or extract in the pre-filled tanks.
*Please note that the latest law changes announce disposable vapes will be illegal. Hence, if you want the convenience of disposable CBD but want to be UK-compliant, try out cartridge-based vape systems.Â
