Broad Spectrum CBD Vape

As people are now increasingly using CBD, they want to learn more. The world of CBD may be confusing due to the many types of products and terminologies. Nonetheless, it would be correct to say that all CBD products, including vapes, are divided into three significant groups: CBD isolate vape, full-spectrum CBD vapes, and broad-spectrum CBD vapes.

As the name suggests, CBD isolate mainly contains CBD added to PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerine) mix. PG and VG are primarily for producing vapours or the cloud, and CBD is for health benefits. Hence, PG and VG form the basis or carrier juices of all kinds of CBD vapes. How CBD affects the brain?

CBD-only vapes or those containing isolate have few benefits, like they are beginner-friendly and less likely to cause side effects. However, such vapes have some limitations, too, like milder effects due to a lack of “the entourage effect.”

Broad Spectrum CBD vape

A broad-spectrum CBD vape tries to overcome the limitations of CBD isolate vapes. Thus, it has added minor cannabinoids and terpenes. However, unlike full-spectrum CBD, it is still THC-free or only contains it in traces. Hence, broad-spectrum CBD vape has the goodness of full-spectrum and yet safety of CBD isolate. Simply put, it is a product between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD, and it tries to provide the best of both worlds, that is, the safety of isolation and the benefits of full-spectrum.

When there are other minor cannabinoids present, it results in more potent action and thus health effects due to “the entourage effect.” The entourage effect occurs when there are other minor cannabinoids present, like CBD, CBDV, CBC, THCA and others. Even though other minor cannabinoids are present only in minute amounts, they can significantly potentiate CBD’s action.[1]

Additionally, it is worth understanding that the entourage effect differs from synergy. Synergy is when one compound potentiates the action of another. However, entourage is not just about enhancing the actions of one another. It means that some compounds may significantly modulate the activity of other compounds, resulting in unique health effects. Simply said, it means that minor cannabinoids can modulate CBD’s activity in a way that broad-spectrum might have some unique health benefits not seen with CBD isolate. This also explains why whole plant extracts are often better than isolated organic compounds.[2]

Of course, full-spectrum CBD also has the entourage effect. However, many people cannot tolerate THC well, and there are some safety concerns regarding its prolonged use. Needless to say, legally sold vapes contain THC only in small amounts and not more than 1 mg in a container/vape. [3] Still, many people want products that are entirely THC-free and yet offer the health effects of full-spectrum CBD.

The Bottom Line

It means that full-spectrum CBD vapes try to balance things. They try to provide the health benefits of full-spectrum CBD and the safety of CBD isolate. Therefore, it would be right to consider full-spectrum CBD vape as something in between the isolate and full-spectrum. Many wants to know about, how much CBD vape should I vape?

If you really like strong flavour and want to enjoy all the health effects of CBD,  then full-spectrum CBD is the right choice. However, if you are worried about THC’s side effects or you need to avoid it for specific reasons, then a broad-spectrum CBD vape may be a good choice.
