Chemicals That Should Not Be in Vaping Oil

Any vape e-liquid is a combination of multiple compounds, this is especially true to cbd e-liquids. It is wrong to say that vaping is harmful. There are some chemicals that should not be in vaping. As science knows, this substance is very harmful to the lungs when inhaled. None of the legally produced vapes contain vitamin E acetate.

Acrolein

Acrolein is never added to vape oil intentionally. However, some poorly produced and untested products may have it. This is a kind of herbicide which may be present in small amounts in some vaping oils of poor quality. If inhaled, it increases the risk of lung disease, COPD, and asthma.[3]

Vaping oils or e-juices contain natural extracts. However, it is worth understanding that using herbicides in agriculture is not rare. Thus, some of those who grow nicotine, cannabis, and other foods use herbicides containing this chemical.

Since science knows that this chemical is harmful to the lungs, most high-quality vapes ensure that their products are free of this chemical. They also try to make sure that they source CBD extracted from organic hemp, as this will help rule out the risk of the presence of this chemical, even in minute amounts.

Diacetyl

The food industry widely uses this chemical. It is yet another example of what is safe for oral consumption and is not essentially safe when inhaled. This chemical is added to baked products, coffee, and even microwave popcorn. It is an excellent flavour enhancer.[4]

However, it appears that it is not safe to inhale. It is behind the rare disease called “popcorn lungs.” It causes severe disease of smaller bronchi.[5] Therefore, this flavouring agent should never be present in vaping oil.

Heavy Metals & Contaminants

These are not something that is intentionally added to any vape oil. However, any high-quality vaping oil should be free of heavy metals and contaminants.

That is why people should always buy well-known and high-quality brands only. The thing is that cheaper vaping oils or disposable vape pens are more likely to contain contaminants. Remember that the cost of vaping oil depends on its purity. Therefore, never go for the cheapest options.

Of course, cost is just one way to ensure you get vaping oil free from toxins. Another thing to look for is lab testing. Labs not only test for the quality of active ingredients. They pay particular attention to contaminants and impurities.

What Else to Know?

There are a few other things to know. Remember that two oils present in vapes are propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG). Though these oils are safe to vape, they must be heated at the right temperature. If the coil temperature is too high, it may burn these oils instead of producing vapour, which may be bad for the lungs. This again highlights the importance of choosing high-quality and well-tested vape pods and disposable vape pens.

It means that the quality or safety of vapes depends on vaping oils or e-juices and the quality of vaping pods, particularly on filament quality and heating temperature settings.
