The Difference Between Nicotine and CBD

One thing about CBD vape pens and  THC vape is they do not have any nicotine in them. THC Vape comes from medical/recreational cannabis. The vape in CBD vape pens comes from industrial hemp. When someone vapes cannabis, they are not getting any nicotine. It is right to ask, Can vapes make you dizzy?

The world is becoming more health conscious these days. People are starting to become more aware of what they're putting in their bodies. Nicotine is commonly associated with tobacco products like cigarettes, snuff, cigars, and nicotine vape. Smoking, a popular trend for many years, has started to decline in popularity. People have started favouring vaping over smoking.

Most people can't tell the difference between someone who vapes nicotine and someone who is vaping on a THC or CBD vape pens. The person vaping can, though. THC and CBD both come from cannabis, but CBD is the only one legal in most places. Let's clear the air on the difference between nicotine and CBD while exploring the popular trend of vaping them both.

What is CBD?

CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, a compound produced by the cannabis plant. CBD was first discovered in 1940, but its structure wasn't understood until 1963. Some may argue these facts saying that people have known about the benefits of CBD going as far back as 2737 BC. These individuals often like to point out that Chinese Emperor Sheng Nung was said to have used CBD in tea that he drank to help combat gout, malaria, and more.

CBD is rich in the industrial hemp plant, a variety of cannabis that contains very miniscule amounts of THC. Industrial hemp is legal in many places around the world, meaning that compounds found in it, such as CBD isolate, CBG, CBN, and others, are too. CBD is a non-psychedelic compound meaning that it does not produce a buzz or high.

Consumers report CBD helping them manage their daily health and wellbeing. CBD does this while allowing them to remain clear-headed and focused, making it a great daily companion. CBD is known to have medicinal properties. In America, the FDA has legalised a CBD prescription drug called Epidiolex. It is prescribed to help manage symptoms associated with two different types of epilepsy.

Types of CBD Products

CBD is available in a wide variety of different products for consumers. There is a CBD product for just about everyone out there. Consumers can choose between CBD gummies, CBD vape pens, CBD vape juice, CBD oral oil, CBD tincture, CBD pharma, and CBD topicals. The list keeps going. CBD can be found infused in everything from delicious chocolates, cookies, and brownies, to lotions, creams, bath bombs, and everything in between.

What is Nicotine?

Nicotine is what many of us associate with tobacco. Some people will also be familiar with the fact that it is used in insecticides too. But just what is nicotine? The dictionary describes nicotine as, "a toxic colourless or yellowish oily liquid that is the chief active constituent of tobacco. It acts as a stimulant in small doses, but in larger amounts blocks the action of autonomic nerve and skeletal muscle cells."

Nicotine is psychoactive, yet it's legal around the world, hence the rise of Nicotine Free Vapes. Some researchers have even compared nicotine to hard drugs such as cocaine and opioids. "Nicotine releases a chemical called dopamine in the same regions of the brain as other addictive drugs. It causes mood-altering changes that make the person temporarily feel good. Inhaled smoke delivers nicotine to the brain within 20 seconds, which makes it very addictive comparable to opioids, alcohol, and cocaine. This rush is a major part of the addictive process." -camh.ca

Nicotine comes with proven risks to your health. Vitalstrategies.org reports the number of global tobacco users to be an estimated 1.3 billion. They say, "Nearly five trillion cigarettes are consumed each year contributing to more than 8 million deaths." Nicotine isn't the only chemical in cigarettes. According to the National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are "more than 7,000 chemicals" in tobacco smoke. Cancer Research UK says, "Cigarettes release over 5,000 different chemicals when they burn, and at least 70 of these can cause cancer." A great alternative to smoking tobacco is vaping nicotine or CBD.
