Can CBD Help You Lose Weight?

THC vape juice used in a THC vape pen can lead to an increased appetite. CBD found in CBD vape pens doesn't have the same effect on people. When someone uses a CBD vape pen, they don't get the munchies like they would if it were THC vape. CBD have some of the same reported effects yet, there's a major difference between the two cannabinoids.

The legal CBD industry has blossomed into a multi-billion dollar one over the last decade. Lawmakers and some researchers question the effectiveness of CBD. Consumers answer that question by buying CBD and continuing to buy CBD. Sales would diminish if the products made with CBD weren't effective.

Consumers report CBD helping them manage a variety of different symptoms to help with their health and wellbeing. Some people say CBD helped them lose weight. Could it be true? Can CBD help with weight loss?

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol aka CBD is a plant compound called a phytocannabinoid produced by cannabis. It is found in both industrial hemp and medical/recreational cannabis. It is found in higher concentrations in industrial hemp. The CBD products sold globally are derived from industrial hemp that contains less than 0.2% THC. Basically, there's not enough there to cause any kind of a high.

What you get from CBD-rich hemp is an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and other cannabinoids like CBD, CBC and CBG. Industrial hemp is legal in most places as long as it adheres to the maximum of 0.2% THC guidelines. In the UK the end closed container must also contain less than 1mg of the controlled substance. CBD has captivated the world and grown into a multi-billion dollar market with a plethora of different products. CBD oil, CBD tincture, CBD edibles, CBD beverages, CBD topicals, and more are available for consumers to purchase in stores and online.

Types of CBD

  • CBD isolate is 99% pure CBD
  • Broad-spectrum CBD contains everything found in hemp except for THC.
  • Full-spectrum CBD contains everything found in the hemp plant including trace amounts of THC.
Full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD products offer consumers the opportunity to experience the entourage effect. The entourage effect is when cannabinoids, terpenes, and other constituents of the cannabis plant work synergistically together to produce better results than they do isolated by themselves.

Can CBD Help With Weight Loss?

Some consumers suggest that CBD helped them with weight loss. Is there any truth to this? The answer to that is no.

Healthline says, "CBD itself won't make you lose weight. But it may help alleviate chronic conditions that hinder weight loss, like pain, anxiety, and sleep deprivation."

The National Institutes of Health has a systematic review of 11 studies that "suggests that cannabidiol has an anorexigenic effect, correlated with a decrease in body weight."

Age Rejuvenation, a medical spa clinic that works with weight loss says, “Studies suggest that CBD for weight loss is an effective tool and that contrary to popular assumptions, it won’t give you the munchies.”

Medical News Today says, "There is some evidence to suggest that CBD can help a person lose weight or help prevent metabolic disorders."

CBD Could Be Your Perfect Companion

CBD could be the perfect companion on a journey to smarter lifestyle decisions. Consumers report experiencing relief from a multitude of different symptoms when using CBD on a regular basis. It's important to remember not to take too much CBD as it could present unwanted effects such as nervousness, diahorrhea, and more. The FSA recommends healthy adults consume no more than 70 mg of CBD in a 24-hour period unless otherwise recommended by a physician.

If CBD can help with general health and wellbeing, that in return could help you lose weight. It's hard to exercise when your body is being ravished by pain and inflammation. It's hard to exercise when anxiety takes over making it hard to do the simplest of tasks. Chronic pain, inflammation, and anxiety affect millions of people around the world. A study available on PubMed says, "We found that existing preclinical evidence strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder when administered acutely; however, few studies have investigated chronic CBD dosing."

In order to lose weight, it takes more than just CBD. You will also have to have dedication to eating healthy and exercising regularly. Adding CBD to your daily lifestyle could be the thing you need and the perfect companion to help you on your path to weight loss. CBD however, cannot and should not be used to replace a healthy lifestyle or diet.
